This policy explains when a fee paid to Canjain Global Advisors Pvt Ltd can be refunded, and how to ask for one. It applies to payments made through the payment link on cgaindia.com and to advances paid against a written scope.
Two kinds of fee
- Professional fee — what you pay us for our work. This is what this policy deals with.
- Government or statutory fee — what is paid to the ministry, department or authority concerned. Once paid to the authority, it is not refundable by us under any circumstances, because we never held it.
When we refund in full
- You cancel before we have started work and before any government fee has been paid.
- We are unable to take up the matter, or we decline it after accepting.
- You paid twice for the same matter, or paid an amount larger than the quoted fee.
When we refund in part
If you cancel after work has begun, we refund the balance after deducting the professional fee for the work actually completed and any government fee already paid. We will show you the working before processing it.
When we do not refund
- The filing has been made and the acknowledgement generated.
- The application is rejected or objected to on merits by the authority, or on the basis of information supplied by you that was incorrect or incomplete.
- The matter cannot proceed because documents were not supplied despite reminders.
- You are dissatisfied with an outcome that rests with the authority rather than with our work.
How to request a refund
Write to admin@cgaindia.com from the email address used for the engagement, with the payment reference, the date and a short reason. You may also call +91 98999 00300.
Timeline
We acknowledge refund requests within 3 working days and decide within 7 working days. Approved refunds are sent back through the original payment method, and typically appear in your account within 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank.
Cancellation by us
We may withdraw from an engagement where a conflict of interest arises, where required information is not supplied, or where we are asked to do something we consider improper. In that event we refund the unearned portion of the professional fee.
